Abstract
121,061. Smith, L. E., and Cameron, H. R. April 6, 1918. Bulkheads for ships, barges, and pontoons are built up of plates A, A<1> which are of semicircular or similar cross-section having their concave portions all on one side, and the plates are riveted together with their edges in direct contact, as shown. The plates are secured to the decks and floors by means of curved shoe angles C, and to the side plating by brackets. Brackets may also be used as additional supports to the decks and floors. The intersection of bulkheads is formed by curved plates arranged as a circular column, as shown.
