7142. United Kingdom Self-Adjusting Anti - Friction Metallic Packing Syndicate, and Sharp, R. G. March 25. Packing, metallic; cup-leather packing.- Metallic packing for pump and other rods consists of elastic rings 7 of M-section between rings 6 of T-section. The rings 7 are partly expanded by the rings 6, and partly by the fluid pressure. The packing is supplemented by a ring 11 of circular section placed in a conical recess in a ring 10. The end ring 9 is formed with passages 12 to admit leakage fluid to the recess in the ring 10.
