Packing, adjusting.-In a stuffing-box of the type described in Specifications 2345/84 and 9943/09, and especially applicable for compressors, the packing is confined between sliding bushes K, E and E, L. The bushes E are held apart by a spring F, and are acted on by oil or other liquid under pressure introduced by a pipe I.
