Abstract

4420. Shaw, R. W. Feb. 23. Spray carburettors.-In a carburettor having fuel and air valves on a common stem acted on by an adjustable spring, the fuel-valve casing 9 is mounted in a plug 5 which is screwed into the body of the carburettor, and the spring 20 is adjusted, and the valves locked on their seat when desired, by means of a hand-wheel 23 and a screw, which is grooved at 26 to permit of the passage of the fuel. The fuel flows down the grooves 28 in the air valve and is picked up by the entering air, further mixing being effected by a fan 30 carried in a bowl 29 screwed into the eduction pipe 3.
