15,486. McComb, J. S. July 21. Feeding webs; rotary machines.- Very long strips of paper for use in printing-presses, which it is desired to form into a roll, are folded at intervals so that they will wind automatically into a series of rolls side by side. The folds 5 are made by bringing one section 4 to a position at right-angles to its adjacent section, Fig. 3, and then forming a second fold so as to bring the strips parallel, Fig. 4. Sufficient lateral space is left between the folds to enable a new roll to be started without straining the material. The portion of the strip in the double fold 5 may be glued or otherwise secured.
