Abstract

190,804. Harding, A. J. Sept. 29, 1921. Hoods. - A hood for charabancs &c. comprises a pair of runways supported at intervals by uprights disposed on each side of the vehicle body and slidably supporting the frame members of the hood, the rear pair of uprights having brackets at their upper ends to receive the hood when folded and being adapted to be turned down together with the folded hood. The extremities of lateral frames b carrying the hood a are provided with rollers c running in guides d which are secured to uprights e pivoted at f to brackets attached to the bodv h of the vehicle. To collapse the hood the frames b are pushed rearwards and then collapsed with the rear supports j, the uprights e being turned about their pivots so that the guides d lie outside the vehicle and beneath the doors. Alternatively, the uprights e may slide in vertical sockets. The body may be extended at the rear to form a casing for the folded hood. Specification 190,805 is referred to.
