Hoods.-In motor vehicle hoods of the kind the hoop sticks are guided in grooves in rails and are operated by an endless cable &c., the loop-sticks 5 are provided with cylindrical bearing blocks 7 or feet adapted to slide in split tubular guides 3 carried by the side frames 2 of the vehicle, and the blocks 7 are provided with apertures through which the endless cable 8 passes. The cable is secured to the front hoop sticks and passes over a drum 10 situated under the rear seat and over a roller situated at the windscreen. The rear of the hook is supported by pivoted pillars 16 and pivoted stays 20, the pillars 16 being provided with springs 18 to assist them being kept in upright position. The guide rails curve downwardly at the rear as shown.
