Abstract
596,528. Collapsable vehicles. SINGLETON, H: July 30, 1945, No. 19382. [Class 108 (i)] In a collapsable caravan &c. the uprights 2 are situated a distance inside the edge of the frame 1 and the bed 4 has a depending member hinged at 3 to the side of the frame member so that' in the collapsed position of the caravan these and the other folding members with their coverings are housed inside the width of the frame members. A member 6 which telescopes into a member 2 has a depending strut 7 connected at its free end by a cord 9 passing over pulleys 11 on the bed frame 4 whereby the roof struts 6 are raised by the action of opening the bed frames. The bed frames are hinged at 3 on a depending leg which allows the edge of the bed frame to rest on the floor in the collapsed position. Spreader arms 8 on the members 2 are swung out to stretch the canvas covering 12.
