Abstract
735,367. Collapsible huts. BRINCK, E. J. M. April 10, 1953 [April 10, 1952], No. 9818/53. Class 20 (1). A folding camp shelter comprises light-weight plates hinged to one another and to a substantially rectangular frame which surrounds the plates to form a box-like structure when the shelter is collapsed, the frame having guide means adapted to be connected to corresponding guide means on a car roof so that the shelter, when collapsed may be pivoted on to the car roof. As shown, frame 3 has a bottom plate 16 forming the front end wall and a cover-plate 4 which forms the shelter floor. Frame 3 comtains plates 19, 20 which form the roof and outside wall respectively, a plate 21 which forms part of one side wall, completed by a preferably transparent plate 22, and a plate 23 which, with a sliding door 25 or curtains, forms the other side wall. A pair of guides 5 are secured to the car roof and carry telescopic guides 9, 10, guides 10 being connected by a rod 13 on which frame 3 is held by hooks or pins 14. In a modification, Fig. 6 (not shown), the plates may be arranged to unfold from either side of the frame. In a further modification, Fig. 7 (not shown), the frame has rollers along its transverse edges which are guided in transversely extending runways secured to the car roof so that the frame can be drawn out sideways from the car roof.
