Spring wheels; felloes or rims; tyres, elastic other than pneumatic; tyres, non-elastic.-In a wheel with a rigid floating rim resting upon a solid or pneumatic cushion, more particularly according to Specification No. 23,868, A.D. 1905, two or more rims are arranged side by side to avoid skidding. Each rim or tyre, Fig. 3, consists of a flanged metal channel carrying a wooden ring, an iron binding ring, and an elastic or non-elastic tread. The inside of the rim is provided with a bent ring 9 forming a number of corrugations which engage with the cushion 5, a leather strip 7 being interposed. The inner part of each cushion embeds upon a corrugated ring 3, the corrugations if necessary being extended upon the bent portions B of plates 1,2, between which the rims slide. Plates are inserted between the rims and held in position by distance-pieces and bolts 6 and the rings 3.
