Tyres, elastic other than pneumatic; felloes or rims.-A solid elastic tyre a having a wi ened convex or inwardly projecting base, is clamped between rim flanges b, the arrangement being such that under load, the tyre base rolls down the inclined rim flanges in the manner indicated by dotted lines in Fig. 1. The tyre base may be split circumferentially to relieve strain, and non- skid devices may be embedded in the tread ; means may be provided to prevent creeping. According to the Provisional Specification, the tyre may have a flat base and may be formed of two or more rubber rings side by side. In this case, metal plates may be fitted between the rings, the plates having flat treads bearing on the tyre tread. It is also stated that the tyre may be in segments.
