Tyres, elastic other than pneumatic; felloes or rims.-In a solid rubber tyre C, Fig. 2, having embedded in it a perforated metal or other ring D, radial projections E are formed on the ring and project through the tyre, and engage in slots in the metal rim. The edges of the tyre are so shaped as not to be cut by the flange b of the metal rim B or by the removable flange G, which, when fixed, is flush with the felloe of the wheel. The tyre is held firmly compressed between the flanges b, G by the square-headed bolts H. In a modification, Fig. 3, the twin tyres C have metal bands with lateral projections, and engage in slots in the central flange I on the metal rim and the movable flanges G.
