Tyres, elastic other than pneumatic; felloes or rims.-A detachable tyre-carrying rim is used in combination with a solid india-rubber tyre, which has a stout metal ring embedded in its base and is forced on to the detachable rim under hydraulic, air, or other pressure. The detachable rim comprises a ring c, Fig. 3, which may be coned internally, with an internal and external side flange c<2>. The surface of the felloe d may be coned, and is provided with two flanges d<3>, d<2>, as shown, the detachable rim being secured by bolts passing through registering holes c<3> in the flanges c<2>, d<3>. Creeping is prevented by the engagement of projections g<2> on the spokes with recesses e<4> in the detachable rim flange.
