Tyres, pneumatic etc.; felloes or rims. -In wheels of the kind provided with supplementary tyres to take the weight of the vehicle in case of puncture of the ordinary pneumatic tyre, the supplementary tyres are carried on n plates detachably secured to the wheel. The supplementary tyres b, Fig. 2, are mounted on metal carriers e resting on the rim d. Clamps f with bolts g passing under the felloe engage inwardly projecting flanges on the plates e, and are prevented from creeping by blocks engaging with adjacent spokes and the clamps. One of the flanges of the rim d may be detachable. According to the Provisional Specification, the metal carriers may be fitted on the felloe, and, when detachable rims are used for the ordinary pneumatic tyre, the retaining side flanges may be extended outwardly to carry the supplementary tyres; or the rim itself may be extended outwards on one side, while, at the other side, there is an extended supplementary-rim plate fitted on the side of the felloe.
