Non - metallic elastic bodies and cores; tyre attachments to rims.-Relates to elastic tyres of the kind in which a thick india-rubber tread is attached to the rim so that it has relative freedom and offers additional resistance due to centrifugal force at high speed. The tread A is formed with curved side flanges a<3> having flat edges a', and is secured to the sides of an ordinary felloe fitted with a clincher rim B by means of rings c and bolts c<1>. The tread is formed with an internal notched rib a<4> which rests on, or moves away from, the rim B. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the complete tyre and rim is secured by radial bolts to the concave rim of a wire-spoked wheel.
