3691. LÚger, M. Feb. 20. AÙrial machines without aÙrostats.-The machine is propelled by two propellers 19, 20, revolving in opposite directions on shafts 21, 22, which may be adjusted about the horizontal axle 18 by the aeronaut. The propellers are made of sheet aluminium braced inside by steel ; the pitch of their blades is adjusted by turning them about the cylindrical crossheads 23, 29 by means of steel wire gearing operated from wheels 34, 56 in the car. The car has glazed openings 14, and a rudder 15 with a horizontal surface 16 as well as a vertical one. The machine is supported on tripods 13, and has a hydraulic piston 17 to deaden the shock of landing.
