Abstract

Propelling; steering.- The shaft of the propeller 28, Fig. 3, of a flying- machine is mounted in a bracket 32 adjustable by means of handles 37 around hollow bearings 33, 34 arranged in the transverse axis passing through the centre of gravity of the machine. The bracket is held in any position by a clutch block 35, which may be retracted by a lever 36. In another form, the propeller shafts are mounted in adjustable brackets 18, 19, Fig. 1, rotatable about fixed sleeves 13, 14 through which pass the driving-shafts 5, 6. Clutch blocks 20, 21 are pressed against the brackets 18, 19 by springs, and are retracted by hand-levers 25, through links 23, when it is desired to adjust the propellers. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 9691/07.
