Hubs; axle-boxes.-Relates to an elastic hub for increasing the resiliency of wheels, a sectional elevation of the hub being shown in Fig. 2, and a section of the elastic tube in Fig. 4. The outer covering consists of two metallic rings C secured together by the part D, and each ring encloses a rubber or other elastic tube R which is fixed in position between two rings F adjustable on the screwed exterior of the axle-box A. In a modified form, the adjustable rings F are replaced by fixed rings over which the elastic tubes R may be sprung into position. The tubes R may be inflatable.
