Abstract

13,907. Park, R. T. June 9. Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and pneumatic cushions.-Relates to wheels of the kind in which arms on the axle member carry small wheels with pneumatic cushions lying inside minor rims on the road member. The minor rims 4 formed integrally with the road rim 3 and a hub ring 7 are of semicircular cross-section and slightly larger in diameter than the inflated cushions 32 which are carried by rotatable wheels 29. The inner axle member is a plate 17 held permanently on the axle by a cap nut 24 which has a threaded extension 25 on which the outer axle member 11 is secured detachably by a nut 26. The wheel can be run independently of the cushions by inserting a solid elastic cushion in the space 35 between the road and axle members.
