7413. Harraway, E. L. April 8. Tyres, elastic other than pneumatic; felloes or rims; spokes.-Relates to a spring tyre, two forms of which are shown in section in Figs. 3 and 5. Secured to the rim B in any manner is a rubber or similar cover A, within which a separate lining C of leather, metal, or the like is placed. Helical springs D are placed radially at short distances apart, so as to bear at one end against the rim and at the other against the lining. The springs may be provided with shaped plates F, which may be secured either to the rim or, as shown in Fig. 3, to the lining. In the form shown in Fig. 5, the springs are connected to the spoke nipples E, and the spokes H are produced into the springs. In a modification, pins, secured to the lining, pass into the springs and through holes in the rim.
