Abstract
187,594. Soc. J. Houdry et Fils. Oct. 18, 1921, [Convention date]. Compositions containing albuminous matter, fibres, &c.-A composition for automatically sealing punctures in tyres consists of a mixture of a substance having base of cellulose, such as bran, soda lye and salicylic acid in alcoholic solution to which may be added asbestos, kieselguhr, antiseptic and colouring matters. Suitable, ingredients and proportions are 30 kg. of bran, 2.1 kg. of carbonate of soda, 5.4 kg. of salicylic acid, 36 kg. of asbestos, 4 kg. of kieselguhr, 2.5 litres of sapocresol, 500 cc. of turpentine, 150 grm. of creosote, 50 grm. of Soudan red, 40 litres of alcohol, and sufficient water to make up 600 litres. The bran is boiled with some of the water, and the soda solution is added. After cooling the acid is added, and subsequently the other ingredients with constant kneading until a homogeneous product results. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the replacement of salicylic acid by dilute hydrochloric acid. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
