Abstract
282,617. Johnson, J. Y., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). June 10, 1926. Indiarubber, solvents for.-There is used as solvent in the preparation of solutions of indiarubber either alone or mixed with nitrocellulose, colouring matters &c., the oily product obtained by the catalytic hydrogenation of oxides of carbon, for example, by the processes described in Specifications 227,147, 229,714, 237,030 and 238,319, [all in Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], or a fraction of such product, or the product of hydrogenation, esterification or condensation of such oily product o:r of a fraction thereof. In examples, a mixture suitable for the preparation of caoutchouc or lacquer films is obtained by kneading crude caoutchouc with an oily product boiling between 180-200‹ C. and obtained according to the process of Specification 229,714; a solution suitable for preparing supple films or lacquer coatings by dissolving a mixture of nitrocellulose and crude caoutchouc in the oily product. Specification 244,830, [Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.], and 282,172 are also referred to.
