Abstract

184,823. Christie, H. W. M. Feb. 25, 1921. Forcing liquid by means of vibrations.-Sludge and other semi-solid matter containing a proportion of crystalline matter is forced from tanks &c. by means of vibrations imparted to them. The vibrations may be imparted by means of a rod C entering the outlet B and reciprocated preferably thirty times a second by means of a cam K engaging a lever connected to the rod C. Or the discharge duct or parts of the vessel adjacent thereto may be vibrated.
