Abstract

166,316. Colwell, G. March 30, 1920. Washing and like tanks.-In apparatus for washing prints, films, &c. which is periodically emptied and filled by siphon apparatus, the prints or films are suspended by clips 19 from rods 20 which are movable along internal ledges 18 of one compartment 6 of the tank. The other compartment 7 contains a siphon arrangement for intermittently emptying the compartment 6. The inverted floating bell 14 rises as water flows through openings 9, 15 until, on reaching a predetermined level, the air compressed within the bell and the outlet tube 11 causes the bell to rise so that the water passes over the tube 11 and the siphoning commences. The tank is completely emptied and subsequently refilled by the tap 3.
