Abstract

168,555. Roberts, R. C. Dec. 29, 1920. Siphons.-Siphon apparatus for automatically drawing water or other liquid from a well &c. a whenever the water rises to a given level, comprises a stop-valve i above the liquid, opened by means of a floa,t k and an horizontal lever j and closed by a compression spring in a chamber m, the siphon having stop-cocks g, e at its suction and delivery ends below and above the normal liquid level respectively, and a closable outlet to the atmosphere. This outlet is provided with stop-valves f<1>, f<2> and a vessel f, which serves for filling the siphon with water and for extracting air from the siphon.
