Fixed-chamber apparatus. -Apparatus for delivering measured quantities of liquid comprises a vessel b having a valved vent o at the top and supplied with water through a. pipe d. Within the vessel is a siphon i, the short leg of which is normally closed by means of a ball valve h acted on by the pressure of the water. On closing the valve g in the supply passage, the water in the part c<1> drains away through the passage v and the ball h falls by gravity to close the passage c<1> and to open the short leg of the siphon. The siphon is thus started, and water passes through the outlet pipe j until the vessel b is emptied or the valve k is released. To permit of complete emptying of the vessel b, a rim w is provided surrounding the valve h and dipping into a well formed in the base c of the chamber b.
