Abstract

145,946. Rowlett, F. H., and Rowlett, W. H. May 30, 1919. Fixed-chamber apparatus; varying quantity measured.-Comprises a closed horizontal cylinder A fitted with a swivelling draw-off pipe H which is set by means of an external pointer E movable over a scale F so that the cylinder may be discharged down to any desired level. The swivelling pipe H is mounted on and communicates with a stand-pipe J fitted outside the cylinder with a three-way valve K giving communication with either an inlet pipe L or a discharge pipe M. A float valve comprising a ball carried in a wire basket O having a seating P at the top closes the air vent when the liquid fills the tank. The valve may be adjustable to suit liquids of different densities. Reference has been directed by the Co-nipt7-oller to Specifications 3293/93 and 3451/11.
