Moving-chamber apparatus.-An apparatus for delivering a definite quantity of liquid consists of trough-like vessels a, mounted on trunnions b<1>, and fitted with a ball-cock which, when a handle is moved for delivery, is maintained in its closed position until the vessel, after discharge, has been rotated back to the filling- position again. The vessel a, as shown in Fig. 4, is of three-quarter circular cross-section and fills up to the level of an overflow aperture a<1>, which, together with a row of apertures c, descends when the vessel is rotated on its trunnions to the lowermost or other intermediate position to discharge the whole or part of the liquid. The ball g of the cock h is prevented from descending, as the liquid leaves the vessel, by an arm i, the hook end l of which engages with the lower end of the slot in a' guide m mounted on the inlet pipe. When the vessel a is rotated back, a pin p on its end wall engages with a triangular pawl n, which lifts and disengages the arm i, and enables the vessel a to fill again. The movements of the trough are effected by a handle d and limited by adjustable stops f on a sector e attached to the inlet pipe.
