Abstract

The slurry discharged from the bottom of the main settling tank of coal-washing plant, when the apparatus is restarted after standing idle, is passed to means for separating the slimes from the water, and that discharged subsequently is passed to means for recovering the fine coal. The plant may be arranged as described in Specification 440,036. Rotary filters or other means for separating the slimes may be used instead of the settling tanks described in the above-mentioned Specification. Specifications 327,845, [Class 46], and 354,986 also are referred to.ALSO:The slurry discharged from the main settling tank of a coal-washing plant when the apparatus is restarted after standing idle, is passed to means for separating the slimes from the water, and that discharged subsequently is passed to means for recovering the fine coal. The plant may be arranged as described in Specification 440,036. Rotary filters or other means for separating the slimes may be used instead of the settling-tanks described in the above-mentioned Specification. Specifications 327,845, [Class 82 (ii)], and 354,986, [Group I], also are referred to.
