Abstract
184,354. Davis, A. L. July 21, 1921. Plug-and-socket couplings for wiring folding w.ing structures for asroplanes and for analogous uses have for at least one of the element. a resilient universal mounting. The electrical contact members 10, 22 are mounted in insulating blocks secured in plug - and - socket housings 14, 26, respectively by screwed sleeves Which damp them against internal flanges and to which waterproof sleeves 21 may be bound. The plug housing 14 is rigidly fixed by screws through its flange to one member 32 of the wing structure and the socket housing 26 has perforated lugs 27 or a. flange through which pass with some play pins 37 fixed upon a ring 35 loosely surrounding the housing and fixed to the other member 34 of the wing structure. Springs 38 are mounted upon these pins between the housing lugs or flange and washers 39 upon the pins. The meeting edges of the two housings are bevelled and the socket housing abuts .against rubber ring 16 surrounding the plug housing.
