Abstract
183,945. Field, E. D. Feb. 6, 1922. Frame construction; springs, arrangement of; push-bars.-An undercarriage for a perambulator, invalid carriage, rickshaw, &c. comprises two parallel bars formed of continuous lengths of steel tubing which are, towards each end, cranked outwards to a greater width and then continued upwardly in parallel to conform substantially to the shape of the body, the extreme ends of the bars being formed as fulcra or short flaps, or provided with clips, to which springs or flexible connections may be fitted to connect the undercarriage to the sides of the body. The tubular members may be reinforced by solid metal insertions. As shown, the tubular bars A, bent as described above, are secured to the axles B and carry at their ends cee-springs D which are connected to the bars A by clips E. Handle-bars F may be formed integral with or connected to the bars A, the bars F being connected by a sleeve member G. The ends of the bars A may be bent over transversely to form projections for the attachment of springs, straps, or any other connections to the body.
