Springs, arrangement of and mounting bodies on; push-bars.-An undercarriage for a perambulator &c. comprises a pair of longitudinal springs or a pair of longitudinal bars with springs secured thereto, the springs being curved downwardly and inwardly towards their ends, which are secured to the axles, and the axles being connected by one or more telescopic buffers. As shown in Fig. 1, the body of the perambulator is supported on a pair of longitudinal bars or springs carried by transverse bars h secured to the main springs a, the ends of which are connected at b to the wheel axles and are bent angularly for connection to the spring-controlled telescopic bars d. The bars or springs are at one end mounted to slide in brackets i. The telescopic bars are secured at .one end u to the springs a, and at the other end slide in apertures in the springs, and may be continued upwards to form handle-bars e. The shock-absorbing springs f, g may be fitted internally or externally at one or both ends of the bars. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, coil springs or buffers k fitted between the body and the springs a are positioned by plates r secured to the body and carrying end pins projecting downwardly through the springs &c. k and through apertures in or brackets on the springs a. The plates r may be pivoted at p to a lug on the underframe. The springs a may be arranged outside the body or between the sides thereof. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, separate springs a are secured to the body, additional springs or buffers n being provided; and in a further modification, single springs such as a, Fig. 1, are secured directly to the body.
