Abstract
480,333. Hand - trucks. GEEST HORTICULTURAL PRODUCTS, Ltd., and GEEST, J. VAN. Aug. 20, 1936, No. 22913. [Class 108 (i)] Frames for hand-carts &c. comprise two longitudinal frame members of girder form consisting of upper and lower longitudinals connected by struts and transverse members connecting the longitudinal frame members, the latter being metal tubes welded together and the lower longitudinals being beat to provide feet in which the cast may be supported when at rest. As shown in Fig. 1, the side frames comprise upper and lower tubular members 10, 11, the lower member 11 being bent up at the front and welded at 12 to the upper member 10 and formed with two depending U-portions to serve as rests. The lower members 11 at the rear are prolonged to form handles 14 and struts 15 connect the upper and lower members. Cross members 16, 16a are provided and the wheels 19 are carried by axles bearing in lugs 18 on the tubes 11 and additional tubes 17. The front U-shaped member 20 may be telescoped on or into the upturned ends of the lower member 11 and may be permanently secured thereto. Fig. 5 shows another form in which the single wheel 39 is carried in lugs provided on members 40 welded at their ends to transverse members 37 and braced against the lower members 31 intermediately thereof.
