Frame construction; springs, arrang6ment of; pushbars; rest-bars. - An undercarriage for perambulators, invalid carriages, &c. is constructed of three sections consisting of two end sections substantially U-shaped in plan and preferably of tubular steel, and a centre section comprising parallel bars of material other than tubular metal, preferably spring steel plates, each of the ends of which are directly and permanently secured in an invariable position to the adjacent end of the correrponding U-shaped section. The ends of the U-shaped sections a, b are provided with flaps m, integral therewith or secured thereto, for connection to the bars or plates d, which may be connected by cross-bars or form part of a quadrilateral formed in one piece. The axles n are carried by the bars &c. d or by the ends of the sections a, b. The bars d or the ends thereof may be of solid circular section to fit within the ends of tubular sections a, b. One or each end of the bars d may be extended as at h, Fig. 4, to carry an axle o, the extension g shown in this Figure forming a rest bar. The base of one or each of the U-shaped sections may constitute a handle, or a separate handle f, Fig. 2, may be telescoped or otherwise secured on the limbs of the sections a, b.
