Abstract
187,917. Rones, S. April 12, 1922. Frame construction; springs, arrangement of.- Relates to baby carriages and like vehicles in which the body is suspended from a frame comprising a single longitudinal member secured to the axles and having upturned ends which carry transverse members connected to the body by coiled springs or flexible links. According to the invention, two transverse members 6, 10, Fig. 3, are provided at each end of the frame member 1, the member 6 being connected to the body at points above the centre of gravity thereof, the member 10 being connected to the body at lower points. The axles 3 are connected towards their ends by tie members 4, and side sway of the body is minimized by straps 15, Fig. 4, connecting the frame member 1 to brackets 16 at each side of the bottom of the body. The ends of the lower transverse members 10 may be bent around the body as shown at 17, Fig. 5, the springs or links 11 being connected to lugs 18 on the parts 17 and to a transverse rod 19 on the body. The ends of the parts 17 may be turned downwardly and flattened to form lugs for connection to the springs &c. 11.
