Abstract

181,442. Origet, M. March 7, 1921. Vaporizers, external.-A mixture of heavy fuel, such as paraffin and air is heated in a chamber 40 traversed bv a series of staggered asbestos - covered tubes 10. The mixture enters from a. carburettor located in a valve-controlled passage 6, and passes to the engine through the valve 31. Exhaust gases entering through the valve 15 are employed for heating the tubes, and are discharged from the passage 16. Electric heating-wires 17 may be used at starting; or the engine may be started on petrol.
