Regulating transformers. -The primary winding a of a transformer for use with measuring instruments has tappings b connected to contact studs e - - i, over which a contact-arm can be moved to varv the connections without" interrupting the current. In the arrangement shown, an additional contact stud k directly connected to the instrument d is provided. When the contact-arm is moved on to the stud k, a projection s engages a spring l and opens the circuit of the secondary winding c at contacts m, leaving the instrument connected in the line. In a modification, a sliding contact-arm is used, and the secondary winding is short-circuited when the instrument is directly connected in the line.
