Gas fires.-A portable gas fire supported on a fire-grate c, Fig. 2, comprises tubular elements i surmounted by a hollow horizontal crown-piece j, Fig. 4, of substantially inverted V-shape in cross - section, perforated on its front face, and a fire-clay back m carrying - a removable metal reflector n disposed in rear of the elements i. The crown-piece carries depending lugs j<2> which embrace the elements i, and its inner rear wall may be lined with a metal reflector. In the form shown, all the above-mentioned parts, together with a front frame g and a burner h, are carried on a base-plate e, connected to the back-plate f and kept level by adjustable supports o fixed in grooves by set-screws o<1>.
