Abstract

176,470. Drysdale, R. Dec. 2, 1920. Butt joints with valves.-A coupling-member A is provided with a valve seat A<1> which co-operates with the enlarged end B<1> of a valve member B. The stem B<3> is hollow and is provided with openings B<4> and with a washer B<2>. The act of coupling by means of the nut C unseats and opens the valve, and uncoupling allows the valve to close. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 8074/10 and 168,491, (both in Class 135, Valves &c.].
