Nov. 16,1920, Seats and seat b a c k s, arrangement and disposition of. - An auxiliary seat for attachment to motor - cycle side - cars comprises a framework adapted to be placed on the luggage-carrier to fit up against the back of the side-car and means for detachably fixing the seat in position. A loose seat 12 is supported on the carrier platform 1 and is surrounded by a framework comprising a back 4, two sides 2, and a front 5 shaped to fit the contour of the back of the side-car. Two slats 6, 6a are attached to the base of the framework and their ends nest in recesses in the carrier. A well 9 is hinged to the front edge of the seat and enables it to be worked through the gap between the side-car body and luggage carrier. A bolt 7 passes through the slat 6, carrier platform 1 and bracket 11 on the well and secures the seat to the carrier. The seat may be supported in a raised position on the carrier, in which case only a shallow well is required which need not be hinged.
