Abstract

176,601. Knight, E. F. Jan. 27, 1921. Bodies.-In a. motor vehicle provided with a dicky seat the back of which is hinged to the body so that it can be folded down to cover the opening in the body, a removable gap-piece is located between the back of the front seats and the front edge of the hinged back of the dicky seat and serves in conjunction with a movable or collapsable front seat to give easy access to the dicky seat. The gap-piece D, Fig. 2, may be hinged to the front edge of the back C<1> of the dicky seat C or may slide into a recess therein. Alternatively, it may be hinged by detachable bolts to the front seat backs or the sides of the body and to the back C' so as to fold against or on to either of the seat backs. As shown in Fig. 5, the gap-piece comprises two pieces D<1>, D<2> hinged to the sides of the body.
