A motor vehicle of the kind known as an estate car has its rear platform made in two parts 1, 2 hinged together, so that the part 2, which has a seat cushion 3, can be swung over to lie on the part 1 and form a rearwardly-facing seat. A padded back rest 4 is detachably mounted on the back 5 of the adjoining forwardly-facing passenger seat. When the occasional seat is required for use the spare wheel 10 is carried in a mounting fixed to the side of the vehicle. The back 5 is retained in the erect position by sliding bolts, and may be turned down to form an extension of the luggage platform.
