792,292. Vehicle seats. FORD MOTOR CO., Ltd. Oct. 9, 1956 [Nov. 2, 1955], No. 30717/56. Class 52(2) A motor vehicle body 11 has a floor panel 12 to which is secured a bracket 21 engageable by a U-shaped latch member 33 attached to the frame of rear seat cushion 18 which rests on floor 12 and has its rearward edge wedged beneath back cushion 19 fixed to the vehicle, the latching arrangement preventing forward movement of the cushion 18 during rapid deceleration. Inclined portion 27 of bracket 21 prevents inadvertent disengagement of the latch member but rearward pressure on the cushion allows disengagement.
