[Also in Division E1] In a chain, in which a pivoted seat member 14 is spring urged upwardly to assist the occupant to rise, the rear of the member 14 is retained, in the lowered position, by the engagement of a flange 30 thereon with a transverse bar 25, slidably mounted in the metal frame of the chair. To release the member 14, knobs 27 are depressed to slide bar 25 rearwardly, to free the flange 30.
