Suspended vehicles.-A pasenger or goods car 27 is suspended from one end of a lever 12 which is fulcrumed on a carriage 8 travelling on an overhead track 5 provided with guard-rails 9. The opposite end of the lever 12 is fitted with a roller 22 which bears against the underside of a rail 21, which may vary in height along its length and thus cause the car 27 to rise and fall. The carriage 8 may be driven by a chain 32, by electromotors or by gravity. A pivoted landing- stage 42 may be provided. In a modification, the car 27 is suspended from a rope connected with a winch on the carriage 8 so that the car 27 can be lowered to the ground for loading.
