Slabs, special shapes of.-In reinforced concrete walls of the kind cast between permanent facing slabs, the slabs are obliquely rabbeted on the top and bottom edges and bevelled for half their thickness on the vertical edges. They may also have recesses 2 to key with the filling. Some of the slabs may be made with grooves 6 to facilitate subdivision of the slabs. The bottom course consists of gauge blocks 7 having grooves 8 to receive the lower edges of the first course of slabs, and with wires 9 to which the reinforcement 11 is secured.
