Abstract

Liquid fuel, supplying. - Fuel is raised from a lowlevel tank to the float chamber of a carburettor by air pressure produced by a pump comprising a suction-actuated spring or weight-loaded piston D in a cylinder B open at the top through aperture b to the mixing-chamber or induction pipe A and at the bottom to the atmosphere through apertures b<5> and to the fuel tank through a pipe C with non-return valve b<2>. The spring d may 'be adjustable or may be replaced by another of different stiffness, and the piston D may be replaced by a flexible diaphragm.
