Abstract

129,693. Higginson, J., and Arundel, H. Nov. 27, 1917. Addition to 125,147. Vacuum apparatus.-According to the parent Specification a vessel b is charged with fuel from a lower level and discharged by placing it in communication alternately with a vacuum pump and the atmosphere by means of two positively-actuated valves. According to this invention, the valve e serves the purpose of the two valves. The liquid-fuel admission valve h acts as an independent non-return valve and is closed by a float c acting through a lever i when the fuel reaches a certain level. The oil may be expelled from the vessel b by air under pressure as described in Specification 126,344.
