Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-In two-strokecycle engines of the type in which fuel is injected through an air port H uncovered hy the piston at the end of the outstroke, the float chamber J from which the fuel flows is charged from a tank T beneath it by opening communication between the chamber J and the crank chamber C when a partial vacuum exists in the latter and the port H is closed to the combustion chamber A by the piston. This cccurs when the ports E, F register at the beginning, or the ports E, H at the end, of the upstroke.
