Abstract

10,202. Crossley, K.. I., and Webb, W. Le P. April 30. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-Combustion chambers A of horizontal oil-engines that communicate with the cylinder through a narrow passage C at the lowest possible point have the exhaust valve F situated in them immediately under the admission valve G and as low as or lower than the bottom of the cylinder, so that any excess of lubricating-oil or fuel oil may flow out through the exhaust port. The vaporizer cap B and the nozzle for admitting fuel at the end of the compression stroke may be situated in any convenient part of the combustion chamber.
